Determined to find a solution, Twigly set out in search of answers. He remembered a few well-known figures in the forest who, some time ago, had seemed to solve difficult situations for others. Maybe it was worth trying to talk to them.
The Hasty Fox
The first one he visited was the Hasty Fox — always in a rush, with a perfectly pressed lab coat and a professional, yet distant, demeanor. He welcomed him into his studio, carved out among the roots of an old tree, where shelves full of little bottles and remedies filled every corner.
As soon as he entered, the Fox glanced him over quickly from above his glasses and gestured with his paw for him to sit down. — Well, well. What seems to be the problem? — he asked without looking up, as he reviewed a sheet of paper and checked her watch.
— I always feel tired, I have headaches, and…
— Oh, classic case of metabolic overload fatigue with a possible neurovegetative component, the Fox remarked confidently. — Perhaps a mild dysfunction of the sympathetic system or a temporary neurotransmitter deficiency? — Hmm, let’s see…

And so it was. She found him sitting on the grass, his gaze lost in the reflection of the water. His ears drooping, his shoulders slumped.
Eira approached, sat down beside him, carefully adjusting her feathers, but said nothing for a while.
Only after a few moments did she speak, her voice calm and gentle.
— I didn’t see you this morning. —
Twigly lowered his gaze. — I’m sorry… — he murmured.
— What happened? —
— I don’t know. I thought I’d be able to keep up with everything. But… I can’t. I always feel the same. My body isn’t changing. I’m still tired. I do everything you tell me, but… the energy doesn’t come. I try, I push myself, but sometimes it feels like it’s not enough. — He paused.
— I also… I also used those things the Fox gave me. At first, they seemed to work, for a few hours. Then… everything went back to how it was before. —
Eira closed her eyes for a moment, then slowly opened them again. Her voice grew steadier, but without anger.
— The seed doesn’t open the day after it’s been planted. —
She paused for a long moment, then added: — Twigly, listen to me carefully. Real change — the kind that truly transforms your life — doesn’t happen in a few days. It’s slow, difficult.
